Video-conference for “Art and Science Digital Renaissance” project

On Monday, June 17th, from 9.30 to 11.30 pm, an important video-conference will take place at University of Florence Incubator (Scientific District of Sesto Fiorentino) to connect with the new Technological Innovation Structure, in Osaka, Japan: KCMO – “Knowledge Capital Management Organization”.

The video-conference is part of “Art and Science Digital Renaissance” project, coordinated by prof. Vito Cappellini, University of Florence, and approved by the Italian Foreign Ministry in the context of the operation: “Italy in Japan 2013”.

After the opening by prof. Alberto Tesi, Rector of the University of Florence, Dr. Cristina Acidini, Superintendent of Polo Museale Fiorentino, will show some of the most important hi-res digital acquisitions of Uffizi Gallery masterpieces, made by MICC (University of Florence Media Integration and Communication Center), in collaboration with Hitachi and Centrica.

Some masterpieces, like “Madonna del Magnificat” and Caravaggio’s “Bacco”,  will be displayed at a very high resolution (up to 6 GigaPixel) thanks to XLimage® and commented by Dr. Acidini.
