In the last three years Centrica has focused its development activity of new services and products in the sector of digital imaging, specifically:

  • in the area of high quality image capture;
  • in the development of technologies for the visualization of high resolution images in Internet;
  • in the development of digital watermarking technologies for the intellectual ownership protection (IPR);
  • in the development of DRM (Digital Right Management) e DAM (Digital Asset Management) software solution for the management and sale of digital contents in Internet.

Centrica has developed many applications dedicated to the Internet Imaging:
XLimage®, is the Internet images server that allows the web visualization of images in high resolution. This software has been named for the IST Prize in 2004.
XLspider® is a software for the search of digitally watermarked images on Internet, allowing an effective IPR protection.
XLphoto® is a software platform for Digital Asset Management and Digital Right Management of images archives.

Imaging capture

Centrica, has developed a specific know how in the realization of direct digital acquisition campaigns (digital backs to single click or scanning) or with high resolution scanner.
Centrica has taken part in the SCALA archive digitalization (one of the biggest digital art image archives of the world) and it has realized the digital DADDI archive, which includes all the art works of the Uffizi Gallery.

Imaging consultancy

Centrica has developed a specific ability in the planning and organization of workflows faces to the creation of digital archives.
Centrica is able to identify solutions and appropriate technologies for every phase of archive creation, optimizing time and assuring consistency in the results.
In November 2003 Centrica has won the “Premio Impresa e Cultura” award promoted by ” Il Sole 24 Ore”(the italian financial newspaper) for the best technical sponsorship in the realization of the digital archive of the Uffizi Gallery (DADDI project), with particular reference to the innovative XLimage® technology for the visualization in high resolution of the archive’s images.
