“Beyond the body, the man” aims to promote the historical wax collection of the University of Florence’s Anatomical Pathology Museum.
On November 12 at 4 p.m., the exhibition will be opened at the Careggi New Entry, Largo Brambilla, 3, inside the new OSA exhibition space of the Centre of Knowledge and Arts.
The waxes faithfully reproduce the effects of ancient and still existing diseases on the bodies of people who lived almost two centuries ago.
The setting has a deep emotional impact and offers visitors the chance to discover the work gradually and from different points of view.
Original evidence about the waxes, the life and the social conditions of patients emerges from a careful historical research.
The exhibition was conceived and curated by Elisabetta Susani.
Exhibition project and coordinated image by Luca Bombassei.
With the cooperation of Gian Franco Gensini
OPENING 12 November, 2010 – 12 February, 2010 Monday-Friday 10-17, Saturday 10-13
